Adult Basic Education

Providing the groundwork to prepare our participants for Goodwill’s job training programs.

Most of the students who come to Goodwill test below a fourth-grade level. Thirty-five percent have less than a high school diploma, and 56% were educated outside of the United States.

To help fill gaps in their education and improve basic skills in preparation for successful job training, we offer participants free Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes.

Classes are small, so instructors are able to work with each student to ensure that the program and approach meets their academic and personal needs.

Some of the courses offered are English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), computer literacy, basic reading, writing and math, and more.

GOODWILL JOB TRAINING AND EDUCATION CENTERS

Goodwill’s free job training and education programs are offered throughout the North Puget Sound. Hundreds of students visit our centers each year to get the skills and training needed to find a job and keep a job.
