New & upcoming volunteer opportunities:
Special Event Intern
Assist in the planning, coordination and management of Seattle Goodwill’s annual fundraiser event, Glitter Gala. Activities include collecting silent auction and centerpiece items, confirming reservations with venue, report writing, preparing and leading meetings, preparing solicitation letters, placing follow-up phone calls, and meetings with donors, sponsors, and/or other partners. Intern must have good communication and writing skills, ability to multi-task and work flexible hours if needed. This position requires having a personal vehicle.
Time Commitment: 2– 6 months

Ongoing volunteer opportunities:
Goodwill Job Training and Education Program
· Co-Teacher: Help adult learners achieve their educational goals by serving as a co-teacher in one of our basic education courses: math, reading/writing, or English for Speakers of other languages (ESOL). Volunteers are paired with one of our staff instructors to co-teach classes.
· Tutor: Assist adult learners outside of class with questions and studies related to basic education areas of math, ESOL, or reading/writing. Tutor and tutee typically meet once a week for 2-3 hours at a mutually agreed upon time. (Bellingham, Mt. Vernon, Seattle)
· Computer Lab Assistant: Help students learn computer basics during weekly computer labs. Skill level varies from beginner on up. Basic software knowledge required.
Vintage Fashion Program
Get involved in the exciting world of fashion by assisting with our extensive collection.The collection provides support for our mission through sales and awareness.
· Clothing Assistant: Assist with our extensive vintage clothing collection. Activities include cataloguing, preservation, storage, and assisting with fashion shows. Daytime or weekend hours for shows.
· Model: Model beautiful outfits from our vintage clothing collection in area fashion shows. Daytime availability preferred.
· Researcher: Do research on the vintage fashion collection, identifying trends and more information on the garments. Weekday availability required.
Group Projects
Organize your friends, co-workers, family, or civic group for a fun day of volunteer service at Seattle Goodwill. We typically use groups in the following locations:
Retail Store: Retail volunteers will help put out merchandise in the store and organize clothing racks by item, color, and size. You might also straighten merchandise, organize a specific department such as books or linens, put out special holiday goods and other related projects. The best times for groups in the retail store are weekdays or Saturdays. No evening hours are available.
