MOUNT VERNON — The Goodwill store in Mount Vernon is set to relocate, and officials hope the move will give the business park in the 200 block of East College Way a boost in the process. The nonprofit secondhand goods store will relocate in May to the former Rite Aid location, which has been vacant for about two years.

The 8th annual Seattle Goodwill Glitter Gala & Fashion Show was held on Friday, November 6th at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center. KOMO News Anchor Denise Whitaker, was on hand to emcee the event wearing couture dresses from Goodwill. The event opened with cocktails for guests while three judges were busy selecting the winners of the Goodwill Design Challenge. Read more about the design challenge here.

A record number of shoppers attended the 32nd Annual Glitter Sale at Goodwill, and their purchases helped make this year’s sale a success! More than 2,500 people bought $278,000 worth of eveningwear, shoes, purses, jewelry and accessories on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15. All proceeds from the sale will support Goodwill’s free job training and education programs for low-income and underserved people in the community.
